Marble is a kind of limestone and is a metamorphic rock composed primarily of calcium carbonate. It is characterized by a low refractive index that creates a particular brightness and gloss, while the hardness, resistance and mechanical characteristics make the marble one of the most noble and precious stones, it has mostly been used in buildings since antiquity. In the arts, Carrara marble had been used to create the most famous compositions in the world.
It is also one of the most used materials for design projects for both exterior and interior. Often times it is used for kitchen tops, bathrooms, tables, floors and furnishings, as well as for paving, stairs or cladding.
The color of marble, which depends on the presence of mineral impurities, varies from white to gray, green, yellow, black.
It is extracted in the quarry in blocks and then it is cut in slabs and / or blocks.
Usually it is split with manual or automatic machines according to the shape, size and product requirement.
