Granite is an igneous rock with grain structure generally of medium and fine size.
Granite is without question one of the most important and versatile categories rock.
Granite can have colors ranging from white to gray to reddish to yellow and even black.
Due to its characteristics of hardness and strength, this type of stone is well suited to floorings and road works (squares, curbs, sidewalks), but also as stones for thresholds walls, window sills, stairs, and last but not least as thin veneers.
The granite is extracted from the quarry in blocks.
It can be split on manual machines, if it occurs in random shapes: from the smallest machine of the C series to the primary machine of Trittico series, whether for the production of paving stones or wall stones, there is a suitable manual machine. If, however, it is processed into sawn blocks, as happens more and more often in the last decade, it is split on automatic machines with H-frame for the production of cobble stones or palisades.
The machines for the processing of granite, which fall in the Pitching One category, are designed to achieve particular finishes on stones such as granite. It is automatic system with four rotating heads, which are able to define the edges of the previously split granite block giving a rounded effect.
Automatic systems with splitting machines for granite processing are placed in the category PXA. Their strength is the ability to make customized solution according to your needs: depending on the type of the machine, you can obtain specific finished products from blocks / strips of granite.
The Horizontal T2 and T1 machines are specially made to achieve particular finishes on the granite strips. The first one is equipped with a single working head and it processes one side of the strip at a time. The second, however, is suitable for those who want to achieve a higher productivity, thanks to the presence of two heads.
The MDC Series includes manual H-frame machines, of reduced dimensions and, especially, light and easy to carry. Available in two different versions, the one is for irregular stones - such as granite - and the other one is ideal machine for sawn material, the machines of the MDC Series are able to refine the products directly on site of the constructors.
Since 1996 Mec has successfully established itself in the splitting and processing of stone field. Today Mec is present in more than 70 countries in the world with its powerful, high-precision and fully customizable machines.
